Â鶹´«Ã½ Students Win Award at Computer Science Event
Feb 13, 2019
Nineteen students from Â鶹´«Ã½ University attended the "CUHackit" event hosted by Clemson University on January 26 through 27. At this 24-hour invention marathon, students from different academic disciplines collaborated in small teams to create solutions to real problems. Ultimately, a hackathon empowers participants in the design process through creativity and hands-on learning.

"Taking the students to this event provided an experiential learning opportunity," said Dr. Cheryl Swanier, associate professor of computer science. "As an institution, we have to become a classroom without walls." Swanier accompanied the students to the event.
Congratulations to Shilpa Kannan, computer science major; Emmanuel Ndubuisi, computer science major, Anna Swanier, computer science major; and Frederick Uy, business major who won the Beginner Hack Award.
