Global Night brings together Â鶹´«Ã½ students of different ethnicities for an ultimate night of fun.

It is in time to recognize the different cultures at Â鶹´«Ã½ and give everyone an opportunity to experience them.

The annual Global Night was held Thursday, Oct. 4, from 5:30-9 p.m. at Commons Plaza. It featured food, dancing, music and traditions.

The cultures represented included students form Nigeria, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Vietnam and India.

Here’s what a couple vendors had to say about Global Night:

Chuwkuwnike Esther, sophomore (Nigeria) said, “We made Jollof rice and you know how Americans have tomato paste? We fry it and we cook it in rice and some other vegetables,” she said.

“We hope to accomplish some diversity awareness to prove that national people's food doesn't taste nasty. You gotta be able to open up because it was cooked by some of the best people on campus.”

Tanaia Bridges, (Vietnam) said, “This table has spring rolls with peanut sauce and we’re here volunteering for community service. I hope to get a better understanding of everyone's culture because although I’m just serving food, I’m also paying attention to everyone's talents.”
